Assistant Director (Teaching and Learning)

About the Role
Lead and develop a professional and talented team of educational experts within the Teaching and Learning and Teacher Quality areas.
Provide guidance and support, and foster a culture of high performance and continuous improvement.
  
Duties & Responsibilities
  • Supporting the strategic direction of the business, as well as other Directors to achieve operational strategic goals
  • Providing strategic leadership within Education Services for the benefit of member schools
  • Leading, managing and developing a professional team to achieve a collaborative and harmonious work environment providing guidance and support for workload management
  • Fostering a culture of integrity, service, excellence, and continuous improvement within the team
  • Leading teams in the Teaching and Learning and Teacher Quality areas
  • Management and administration of policy, programs and projects
  • Development of innovative, and evidence driven services in Teaching and Learning and Teacher Quality
  • Leading the design and development of appropriate professional learning, tools and systems that support improved pedagogical practices and student outcomes in member schools
  • Analysis and implementation of state and federal government policy and initiatives which relate to, or impact on, programs and service delivery to schools in the areas of Teaching and Learning, Teacher Quality, Teacher Workforce, Future Schooling, and Educational Innovation
  • Preparing submissions, reports, and research in relation to relevant educational issues and their impact on independent schools
  • Working collaboratively with senior leaders to ensure integration and consistency in delivery of services to members
Skills & Experience required
  • Leadership and strategic management capability - this will be reflected in your work history, which includes having previously worked strategically with senior and executive leaders 
  • Post-graduate educational qualifications (or equivalent industry experience) in educational leadership
  • Demonstrated capability in building and maintaining relationships across a range of stakeholders, both internal and external to the business
  • You are an innovative and forward thinking who embraces and drives change
  • You will have exemplary written and verbal communication skills
  • By nature you are warm and optimistic and your leadership style is collaborative and empowering
