Oversee the day to day operation of this kitchen facility where you will be responsible for providing nutritious, hygienic and safe food service for patients of this private health facility.
Duties and Responsibilities
In consultation with an external dietary consultant you will plan monthly rotational menus and recipes in order to provide nutritious meals and snacks for patients, staff and visitors
Liaise with patients to discuss and plan dietary menus in order to provide for nutritional aspects of patient care
Coordinate and participate in preparation, cooking and serving of meals (in accordance with the planned menu)
Provide a safe and hygienic safe food service in line with all regulations, legislation and policy
Lead and manage a team of chefs, cooks and kitchen hand staff
Develop and maintain a stock control system
Skills and experience required
You will possess appropriate Trade Certificates (for example, Certificate in Commercial Cookery or similar)
High level of knowledge in infection control principles and practices relevant to food hygiene
Exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to engage with, and build rapport across the facility (staff, patients, suppliers)
Previous experience in catering for large groups (a background in hospital/aged care is desirable but not essential)
