Working closely with the Chief Operating Officer, you will be responsible for providing guidance and advice to the organisation on people matters and help guide and develop a strong people culture based on the organisation’s values.

Duties and responsibilities

  • Work ‘hands on’ to manage the Human Resources function for the business – including recruitment, position design, career and succession planning, training and development and performance management

  • Develop, maintain and promote HR policies and procedures

  • Facilitate onboarding and induction for new staff

  • Work in collaboration with Managers to provide support, coaching and advice on HR best practice and all people related matters

  • Coordinate staff engagement activities

  • Develop and coordinate the delivery of a program of staff professional development

  • Work with the Finance team to ensure payroll documentation and records are maintained accordingly

Skills and Experience required

  • Tertiary qualification in Human Resources, Management or a related discipline

  • You have an innate ability to communicate at all levels and your interpersonal skills allow you to foster relationships with a wide range of people within the business

  • The ability to demonstrate knowledge across the many facets of HR, including recruitment

  • This is a role that blends both operations and strategy so whilst you can think ‘big picture’ you are also able to work proactively and hands on to get the work done

  • You are commercially astute and have an energetic and motivated approach to your work. Your standards are high and you seek to work with like-minded people who are enthusiastic, collaborative and engaged.
