About the role
Reporting to a Manager who is approachable and collaborative, you will thrive in this autonomous role where you will get to own the payroll function.
Duties and Responsibilities
Prepare all payroll payments for weekly and monthly pay runs
Update payroll records for existing employees as well as new starters and terminations
Prepare all state and federal tax obligations - including PAYG tax, payroll tax, superannuation contributions, workers compensation
Provide advice and consultation to employees in relation to pay issues, award changes, new policies
Resolve all payroll queries in a professional and timely manner
Prepare internal correspondence to reflect payroll changes
Preparation of payroll reporting as well as other adhoc reports as required
Skills and Experience
You will have a solid amount of experience in a full function payroll role and ideally in a commercial environment. Industry experience (construction) isn’t essential but would be advantageous
You also have a broad and comprehensive knowledge of modern awards, state legislation and you have the ability to interpret award legislation
A willingness and desire to keep abreast of changes in award legislation and the ability to know where to research and go looking for information
You must be meticulous in your work with a high degree of attention to detail
You are respectful to the discretion and confidentiality required to work in payroll
Interpersonal skills that reflect your ability to naturally build rapport with your colleagues and peers
