About the role
Reporting to a Manager who is approachable and collaborative, you will thrive in this autonomous role where you will get to own the payroll function.
  
Duties and Responsibilities

  • Prepare all payroll payments for weekly and monthly pay runs

  • Update payroll records for existing employees as well as new starters and terminations

  • Prepare all state and federal tax obligations - including PAYG tax, payroll tax, superannuation contributions, workers compensation

  • Provide advice and consultation to employees in relation to pay issues, award changes, new policies

  • Resolve all payroll queries in a professional and timely manner

  • Prepare internal correspondence to reflect payroll changes

  • Preparation of payroll reporting as well as other adhoc reports as required

Skills and Experience

  • You will have a solid amount of experience in a full function payroll role and ideally in a commercial environment. Industry experience (construction) isn’t essential but would be advantageous

  • You also have a broad and comprehensive knowledge of modern awards, state legislation and you have the ability to interpret award legislation

  • A willingness and desire to keep abreast of changes in award legislation and the ability to know where to research and go looking for information

  • You must be meticulous in your work with a high degree of attention to detail

  • You are respectful to the discretion and confidentiality required to work in payroll

  • Interpersonal skills that reflect your ability to naturally build rapport with your colleagues and peers
